iOS 26.1 and system data keeps growing after I delete things off the phone to keep me at “storage full”. Well over 30gb right now.
I have an IPhone 12 mini, 64gb.
I did the update for iOS 26.1. The iOS is taking 18.5gb and system data is at 11.25gb… so pretty much half of the phone and got the dreaded “storage full” message.
Searching around on here, I tried “rebooting” then offloaded things to the cloud. The system data then climbed to fill the storage I just freed.
I moved all my photos and videos to a little flash drive, deleted from the phone then emptied the “recently deleted” folder.
The iOS just grew again to fill that gap.
I swear once I’m done offloading apps, I’m going to have a 64gb iOS and an unusable phone.
Can anybody help shed some light on this?
