Siri require device unlock for certain actions while using earphones

Why is Siri so dumb and annoying it never work according to your wish Gemini is much better and understandable than Siri.

Apple should learn from Google.

Now let me give you a example

I always use earphone while driving and ask Siri for call or play music and in response Siri says to unlock your device first and if I have to unlock my device myself then what is the use of Siri I don’t understand.

Apple need to understand this.

Maybe that’s why there are a steady stream of hacks for Google Android devices and none for Apple devices.

While it would be convenient for YOU to access apps on your iPhone while it is locked, it would be just as convenient for someone who found or stole your iPhone to access apps on your iPhone.

There is an easy way to keep the iPhone unlocked, even if you don’t have CarPlay; just open any app that keeps the screen alive, such as Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, etc.

Getting Around Unlock to Get to Siri:

Being required to unlock while using CarPlay is a default setting in the iOS. You can make a significant change, by performing the following...

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: General
  3. Tap: CarPlay
  4. Tap: [your car] from the list
  5. Toggle OFF: "Allow CarPlay While Locked."

Are you saying Gemini can initiate playing a song on a locked phone? Remember Siri does not use secure voice recognition so anyone else in the car or in the street can request Siri to perform actions.

Also all you have to do is mount the phone on a stand so it can see your face.

I asked Siri to play a song and I use Spotify. Yes I had (one time) to first allow access to Spotify (she asked nicely) and had to unlock the phone first with my thumb. Siri found and played the song in Spotify.

Whilst locked I successfully asked Siri to play a different song.

I was pretty impressed at Siri's ability to search for music and play it on Spotify.

Recommend this Change to Apple:

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about your concern.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what their customers perform, and what features to include in iOS versions to come. Apple will know nothing of your opinions and ideas, if you don't report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: that you want this to be a new feature and why. Include the URL of this thread.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary

one more thing most of the people will understand what I am saying except few people like you who blindly support whether it’s right or wrong.

So you believe most of the people would like a phone which is less secure and anyone could operate? I surely hope most of the people would most definitely not like this. I certainly have no issue unlocking my phone to ask Siri to do certain things.

The chances of getting what you're asking for are likely lower than you winning the lottery. But you are certainly welcome to provide feedback to Apple. You haven't done that here.

Correct, that is how I always used it, but as the OP is wearing earphones I guess they don't have Carplay or don't use it.

Really? You are suggesting asking Apple to make iPhones less secure. It is a recommendation I hope Apple won’t even consider.

Lawrence Finch is a great participant, and replies with respect. Your original post was more taken for granted by me, having read how upset you seemed with Apple. But, Lawrence Finch Is correct: Apple wouldn't even consider making such a change I recommended. So, I stand corrected.

P.S. Had to sort out a few things that I received via text: A few scam messages.
