Problem with icloud generating duplicates

iCloud Drive is creating duplicates of my folder... Up to 5 times sometimes. They show on the Web version, iPAd drive, iPhone... How do I fix this

icloud duplicating files Hi.i'm new to using icloud drive and i feel like an idiot but i've just noticed that in the iCloud drive folder on my hard drive there are multiple files which seem to be duplicates. a number 2 has been added to the file name. Does anyone know if this is an icloud issue or did I duplicate files and folders without knowing it?

iCloud folders not syncing iCloud folder are not syncing for almost 1-2 weeks now. I have not seen this in last 12 years of my Mac usase. Any suggestions??

Make sure all devices are on the latest OS

If you have:

iPhone on iOS 18.1
iPad on iPadOS 26.1
Mac on macOS 14 or 13

→ high chance of folder-conflict duplication.

Apple recommends updating all devices to the newest versions before cleanup.
