Media volume gets loud when phone rings on iPhone
Media volume gets loud when phone rings on iPhone
I’m experiencing a weird and frustrating audio issue on my iPhone 17PM and haven’t been able to find a solution.
Issue description:
Whenever I’m watching reels, YouTube, or listening to music, and I receive an incoming call, my media volume automatically changes to match my ring volume.
Examples:
- If the ring volume is high and the media volume is low, receiving a call suddenly makes the media volume loud.
- If the ring volume is low and the media volume is high, receiving a call drastically lowers the media volume (basically media volume matches the ringtone volume when the phone rings)
- The most annoying and frustrating thing is: This also happens when I’m wearing headphones. The phone rings, and my media audio becomes loud even for others to hear outside my headphones.
Because of this, I’m forced to keep my ring volume low at all times to avoid my media volume randomly blasting when someone calls.
What I’ve tried (with no success):
- Reset All Settings
- Disabled Attention-Aware Features
- Turned off Bluetooth and disconnected all accessories
- Restarted the iPhone
The issue still happens exactly the same.
This is extremely annoying because incoming calls should not override media volume settings. Any help or insight would be appreciated.
