"Haptics" on iPhone refer to haptic feedback, which is the vibrations and tactile sensations the device produces to physically respond to user interactions, such as pressing a key on the virtual keyboard or performing an action. Haptics are essentially a vibration. They can be very useful for notifications if you have the sound turned off.
