Consolidating split iTunes library on Windows

I am trying to move my itunes library from an old windows computer to a newer windows computer. The itunes library on the old computer is split into two locations. The first is: music>itunes>itunes media>music. The second is: music>itunes>itunes. I tried using the consolidate tool to consolidate the library but keep getting "not enough room on "windows" to copy all the requested files". Does anyone have any ideas on the best way to get the libraries consolidated prior to copying to new computer - or is there another option? Thanks for any help

The error "Not enough room on Windows" appears because the Consolidate command functions by making duplicates of your files. It doesn't move them; it copies them into the main folder. Since your C: drive is likely nearly full, it fails before it can finish.

Since you are moving to a new computer anyway, the best solution is to use your External Hard Drive (which you presumably have for the transfer) as the "working space" to perform the consolidation.

Thanks so much for the quick response. Unfortunately it doesn't give you an option to select where the consolidation happens
