Remove Iphone from Apple Account

Hi, A friend recently sent me an iphone 12 from another country. She removed it from her account but when i try to reset it it requires her apple id, to which she gave me the password and i inputed, it registered the device again. but when i try to reset it again it requires her face id, which is impossible as she is not in my country. she still has acces to her apple account, is there a way she can automatically remove it from her end?
