How to opt-in for focus message notifications on Apple devices?

I hope Apple is looking into this. At the very least focus messaging should be an opt in service not something the user has to fiddle with. Apple is sharing information it has gathered about the user and is sharing it with others. I sure hope Apple is not contravening the rules concerning GDPR in this.

Did you also see the answer in that thread:

Go to Privacy & Security -> Focus -> Toggle the option that says, "Allow the applications below to see and share your Focus status" -> "Messages"

Goodness gracious. I hope they no longer have busy signals or voicemail where you live. People might get the idea you're doing something else and screening your calls!
