Apple Music play counts not taking into account plays on iPhone

Hi, I play my music on three different devices: my Macbook, my iPhone and my Samsung TV. All via the Apple Music app. However, my play count only gets updated when I play songs on my Macbook, not on the other two. I don't mind too much on the tv, but my iPhone is where I listen to music the most.

I verified my settings and "Use listening history" is activated. Yet, I add a new song to my library and after I played it a few times completely, my count on my Macbook for the song is still 0.

I've had this for a while now, but I'd really like this to be solved. What is the solution to this?

iPhone details:

  • iOS 26.1
  • Iphone 16 PRO

Same account is used both on Macbook and iPhone (obviously, it's an issue discovered due to the Replay '25 and I have the same playlist on both iPhone and Macbook).

Thanks

Sven
