Why can’t I sign into my account in the App Store?

Why does it just stop me from signing into my Apple account on the App Store? Like as soon as I press continue on signing in, it’ll just stop loading entirely, and when I use different accounts, it’ll just stop and load forever on the verifying screen. I’ve already tried restarting my phone and changing the password.

Force-refresh the App Store (hidden reset)

This works more often than any other method.

  1. Open App Store
  2. Tap any of the bottom tabs (Today / Games / Apps / Arcade) 10 times quickly
  3. The screen will flash → this clears App Store cache
  4. Try signing in again

All the references I can find about the 10 presses cure date from at least 10 years ago with nothing newer. I guess there's no harm in trying it but don't be surprised if it does nothing. Even if it does work, it might well not actually clear up the issue.


Here's a more classic set of things to try in this situation:


Restart your equipment and/or sign in out and back in again, and try again.


If you can't connect or sign in to iCloud or your account, Apple has a list of things you can try in the document If you can't connect or sign in to iCloud - Apple Support


Is the iCloud server working? --> https://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus


If you are using a VPN try removing it completely (don't just turn it off) and see if you can then use the service. E.g., AppStore - Apple Community


If using cellular data (even if it is seemingly good), try using WiFi instead. —> Connect to Wi-Fi on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support


If you are trying to use a service from outside your Home Country it may not be available. From: Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions - Legal - Apple Media Services - Apple

If you still have problems try official Apple Support. Click here --> Choose your country or region - Official Apple Support Select your country, then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.
