Left AirPod not charging and cannot reconnect

I've had my Airpods for about a year or so and the left one is now not charging. I've tried cleaning both the scensor on the Airpod itself and the little prongs in the case. their have worked so far. I tried disconnecting them from my phone and now they wont recconect due to the left one not charging. Any advice would be very helpful!!
