Siri not working after ios 26 update

Siri has stopped working (mostly) since updating to iOS 26. She will respond if wearing my AirPods and if I push the side button. I've restarted the phone twice. Turned off Siri and re-enabled setup twice. Still won't work. Any other suggestions from the forum????

Well, after much chatting with an Apple agent through Support, it appears (as I discovered on my own by following a whim, thank you), that Bluetooth was seeing my Airpods as being connected (in my ears) when they were actually in the case. I tried turning off Bluetooth, and Siri worked. Re-enabled it. Siri doesn't work. After seeing Airpods as showing "Connected" in Bluetooth items, I took each one out of the case, reseated it and closed case. Airpods no longer showed as being connected (when they are not). Siri is now working again.

And I am so glad that I was reluctant to Reset All Settings on my phone. Saved myself the headache of having to put everything back like it was.
