I have updated my iPhone to iOS 26.2
I have been trying to get reminders to work as described but will not,work.
No where do I see “ urgent” to toggle on.
can someone help?

I don't know what the reason is. I suspect there's a good one, though.
And as shown in my screenshots, it's not just the Urgent toggle... those un-synced reminders can't use Tags and other Reminder features.
That's correct. Lists that don't sync to iCloud don't have all the feature of the ones that do.
That's OK, I'll cope! 😁 Thanks everyone for trying to help. I'll switch to synced Reminder Lists only.
Good call. That also means that, should something happen to your phone that renders it unusable or inaccessible, you'll still have your reminders.
its definitely an issue. When i go to add a new reminder I can set the toggle. But for me when I start typing out the name of the reminder, the toggle vanishes?
A discussion in another forum mentioned the type of list. They found that the Urgent feature shows for list of type Groceries (instead of the default type Standard.)
Well I think I finally solved the riddle of the new reminders app.
I signed out of apple cloud and then signed back in. This worked for me and the new " Urgent" toggle is there and works just fine.

Ok can confirm. You need to sign out of iCloud then sign back in for this to work. Completely stupid but I’ve tried it and it works.
