Missing purchased movies on Apple TV after software update

I recently updated the software on my Apple TV through the update software feature and after rebooting I no longer have any of the movies that I purchased over the last 15 years

I share the pain as I had the same problem. After hours of playing around with the settings, I managed to resolve the problem and all movies and tv shows had re-appeared. Here is how to fix it.

Go into settings, the Apps, click on TV, then your profile name. Next click on restrictions, change to PG or something similar, then change to allow all or 18. Do this for movies and tv shows. Once you have done this, it should work again. 😀
