iPhone 11 battery draining question.

Hello, I feel like my iPhone 11 battery is draining faster than before, I am not sure if it is or if I am being paranoid, is 20 percent battery drain in 1 hour of use normal? Also could it be caused by virus? Also the battery health says it’s 85%

thank you in advance for your response.

No it is not a virus. Your Battery Health is indicating that your battery is going to need to be replaced very shortly and that usually happens when it falls below 80%, but you are just months away from that happening. It would really be surprising if an iPhone 11 would not have needed to have the battery replaced at least once by now. Was this phone purchased new from Apple or Authorized Apple Seller?

The apps that are consuming the battery are seen at Settings > Battery. You can post what you see there including the green battery graph.

1) Not a virus. If it was a virus you would be world famous as the first to have this issue caused by a virus.

2) Apple recommends getting a battery replace when it reaches 80% life. While 85% is still above this, from my personal experience it has reached a level where you can expect to have to charge it more frequently, or be very careful about what apps you use.

3) Battery drain can depend upon what services you are using. If you are watching non-stop video or playing games then I wouldn't be surprised if you saw a big drop in an hour. I tend to keep my settings for optimal battery life. I never watch videos or play games. When my iPhone was at 84% I could get by for most of a day but would frequently see 17% at the end of the day. So your battery isn't formally done for now, but you may consider getting it replaced now if you are finding this to be a nuisance.

Read this support article about iPhone battery and performance to learn about the battery health feature and what is considered normal performance --> iPhone battery and performance - Apple Support

To see the feature go to: Settings > Battery > Battery Health

"A normal battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 500 complete charge cycles when operating under normal conditions. The one-year warranty includes service coverage for a defective battery. If it is out of warranty, Apple offers battery service for a charge." A degraded battery may display the notice: "Your battery’s health is significantly degraded. An Apple Authorized Service Provider can replace the battery to restore full performance and capacity." If it is not at or above 80% "normal", consider contacting Apple about a battery replacement. --> iPhone Battery Replacement - Apple Support
