Deleting CRITICAL Imminent Threat Alert

I have a iPhone 14 Pro running the latest OS26 and have the same message stuck on my lock screen.

I have done a forced restart and it's still there.

Like someone said this is from the NWS for a snow squall that was expected in our area a few days ago. It is NOT a scam.

I have turned off Critical Alerts.

I have restarted my iPhone a few times.

Any other ideas? Thank you!

It is unwise to assume that what worked for you, ebehr59 would work for everyone.

Please explain (in detail) how to "Delete the Critical threat alert" with step-by-step instructions.

I've tried numerous suggestions (swipe left, restart etc), deleted the weather app, turn off notifications in messages, all government notifications and it still comes back after you restart your phone. Is there a way to completely prevent it from coming back? Deleting even the weather channel app was unsuccessful. Thanks in advance and I have read the entire thread.

Thank you for this one. I had a very welcome alert about an imminent very high wind storm yesterday that I couldn’t make go away until I read your comment. I don’t see the other post you mentioned, so yours was quite welcome.

Two of us have you given you the exact instructions on how to remove it. What happens when you try? You just keep responding to the original poster of this thread who posted on January 1st. I'm sure by now, they have followed the directions we provided and they are no longer in need of help.

Wish I’d tried this first! It was stuck on my Lock Screen, but was not swipable, so… I tried the various multiple step fixes: changing settings, rebooting, resetting, etc, multiple times, to no avail. Frustrated, I scrolled down, found this and voila! Fixed! This needs to be up at the top!! Quite the “duh!” moment. 🥴

I did all of those things twice / even picked different languages twice, turned off all government notifications and emergency alerts, did force reboots twice. None of it stood that imminent threat alert from reappearing n my iPhone lock screen. This was a NWS tornado warning from this afternoon but it expired more than three hours ago.

The instructions you gave regarding clearing the critical message or notification regarding a tornado warning. I follow the instructions as was stated and it did not remove the critical alert message on my locked home screen.. I followed the instructions a second time and it still did not remove the critical alert message on my locked home screen.

No, it's not actually. You would know that if you bothered to pay attention to what had already been posted in the thread before adding your response.
