Touch ID option missing in System Preferences on iMac?

I have an iMAC updated to the latest software. I just bought a new keyboard with touch ID. I cannot activate the feature as the System Preferences do not include the Touch ID option. It did appear for one moment and then disappeared. I have tried shut down / restart a few times and nothing changes. What do I need to do?

The Apple Magic Keyboard with Touch ID requires a Mac with Apple Silicon and macOS 15.1 or later.

Your iMac 27-inch model does not qualify.
