Cannot remove a contact from the top of iMessages on Mac

I somehow added a contact to the top of my iMessages on my Mac. I cannot get rid of it. If I click on it the message thread shows up but I can't delete it. Can someone help me remove it? Thanks.

Right-click the contact and "Unpin" it.
