WD My Passport APFS drive not mounting on Mac Mini M2 Pro

HDD doesn't show up in finder, shows up in Disk Utility but doesn't mount.

It shows up in Windows that can understand AFPS but cannot copy files, only view.

Same Windows PC can copy files from my other HDD and SSD with AFPS format.

Rebooted many times, problem persists.

Devices:

WD My Passport

Mac Mini M2 Pro

Windows 11 Atlas Lenovo L340 Gaming

Mac mini, macOS 26.1

Sounds like the the WD My Passport is failing or has failed, which is common for those and other brands of cheap external Drives.

Plug the WD My Passport into the Mac mini > open Disk Utility > click Show All Devices > run Disk Utility Repair on the Drive and all of the Volumes on the Drive.

see > Repair a storage device in Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support

If Disk Utility fails to Repair the WD My Passport, then replace it with a more reliable external Drive.
