Wi-Fi calling not working ios 26.2

"Wi-Fi calling not working ios 26.2: I use iPhone 16 pro iOS 26.2. Cannot use WiFi-Calling when connect the WiFi. I tried turn on airplane mode waiting 15-30 sec sometime can use WiFi Call. Is this version ios bug or other problem."

A. Recent Cellular Outage:

Does Cellular work? Note that there is/was a major Cellular service outage (Verizon, and some reports of AT&T). So, if Cellular is having issues, then that is the potential culprit.

B. Carrier Restrictions:

C. Turn Off VPNs:

Do you have an VPNs turned on? Of so, turn them off.

Try a Restart:

Verizon (and reportedly AT&T) has/had a Nation-Wide Outage:

Why the issue? Well, it's probably no mere coincidence that there is/was a nation-wide Verizon outage. Wi-Fi is not Cellular, but it might a service provided by the same company. WiFi Call is a carrier-specific feature. Contact your Carrier (Cellular Service Provider), the agency that issued the SIM / eSIM to you. --> Make a call with Wi-Fi Calling - Apple Support (IN)

What did your cellular carrier say when you reported the problem to them?

WiFi calling is a carrier feature.

"My Carrier is support this service and used WiFi call before, I am not use VPN."

Calling Being an Issue:

So, can you make and receive calls? If not, then you still need to wait for services to be up.

B. "No Service":

Is "No Service" shown on the top-left corner of your screen? If so, go here to fix that: If you See No Service or Searching on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

C. "No SIM":

D. Install a Cellular Update:

It might be prompting you for a cellular update to install. So, go here for that. Update your carrier settings manually on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

E. Whom to Contact:

Contact your Carrier, as they are the one who provide you with the service of Calling.

We have 2 phones both on 26.2.1 with the same carrier.

one phone works and the other does not.

the additional symptom is that when airplane is turned on , one phone continues to work with WiFi calling and the other warns that WiFi is needed when the phone is actually connected.

A wide variety of reasons; your device is connecting to a large computer system on the carrier side and there are myriad reasons that may stop working properly.

At the very least you may wish to contact them and see whether they see issues with your account on their side.

If one works but the other does not, that pretty clearly points to a cellular carrier issue.

Except it was working prior to the update why would it be the carrier

Wifi calling is not working since the newest update. Was working before the update. I am in Australia.
