i can’t download apps because my account is blocked apple wants me to pay for a subscription which I have cancelled before the trial period ran out

This usually happens because Apple thinks there’s a billing issue. Go to Settings > your name > Payment & Shipping and make sure a valid payment method is on file, even if you don’t owe anything. If it’s still blocked, only Apple Support can remove the hold, cancelling the trial doesn’t always clear it.
