Installing Final Cut Pro third-party titles

I’m having trouble installing third-party titles in Final Cut Pro. I have it working on one machine and I’ve literally cut and pasted the title effects from the directory where they’re stored on the work machine for the nonworking machine , and it didn’t work. I’m running the latest Final Cut Pro and I’m at a loss to figure out what I’m doing wrong.

Please post a screenshot of the whole folder hierarchy, in Column View.

Also: the Motion Templates folder, and the Titles folder, need to be "localized" - select each in turn in Finder, press Command-I to open the Info window, and add the .localized extension (note: it won't appear in the regular Finder views, only in the Info window).

Other folders - the category and the actual title folders - should not be localized.

Here is an example (for a transition, but the principle is the same). Note: "Lichinho" here is the category folder, and "Asym Dissolve" is the template. One common error is to omit the category folder level.

What third party title specifically?

Where are you placing them on the new Mac, exactly?

It should go into ~/Movies/Motion Templates/Titles, and must be the original folder structure.

And re-launch FCP once you do the move. Better yet, quit FCP before moving. FCP "should" update automatically if you add a title while it's running, but hey, why chance it?
