M1 MacBook Pro Ethernet self-assigned IP with HP G2 dock

Hello, I use an M1 MacBook Pro and a HP G2 dock, the display output and everything else is working, but for some reason my Ethernet shows up as "Self Assigned IP", I've tried to follow other guides here but they don't seem to be working, anyone got anything that might work differently? New to Mac so I am having trouble troubleshooting it myself. The ethernet cable works on all other connected devices without issue, windows, my TV, etc.

Thanks!

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 26.3

That HP Dock device appears to be supported ONLY for Windows version 11.

HP has a Windows device driver available for download on its web site, but that will not work with MacOS.

In addition, if you expect to connect a display, you need to know that device has a DisplayLink driver, so its display support is likely to be second class.
