Problems pairing Bluetooth-enabled hearing aids with Macbook Air and iPod Pro.

I just started wearing Phonak Virto R Infinio hearing aids, with classic Bluetooth built in. I cannot get them to pair with my Macbook Air (running Tahoe 26.2 and M4 chip) nor my Macbook Pro. The hearing aids pair easily with my Android phone. I've read other similar posts and tried all the possible suggested ways to fix this but nothing works. If anyone has advice, I would appreciate it.

Apple’s support page for hearing devices notes that Macs only support pairing of “Made for iPhone” (MFi) hearing aids directly using the system-level Accessibility > Hearing Devices workflow (supported on Macs with M1 and all M2/M3/M4 chips). If your aids aren’t recognized in Accessibility → Hearing Devices but only appear in the general Bluetooth pane, that’s often a sign the Mac doesn’t see them as MFi-compatible streaming devices, even if Android sees them fine.
