How can I remove Recovery Assistant and log in normally?

My Mac Pro will not allow me to log in. It has opened on the Recovery Assistant and believes I want to reset my password, which I do not. The screen is very dark, the cursor will not work, I have no access to controls. How can I remove Recovery Assistant and log on normally please? Thank you

Recovering MacBook log-in Password I've seen people suggest Restarting and holding the Command+R keys to go into recovery mode, except when I do that, it never enters recovery mode. It just keeps restarting. I hold them down immediately. I've tried waiting a second. I've tried waiting a bit longer. It never goes into recovery mode. Anyone have any tips? Is this really the only way to get your password back?

Mac Login password not recognised, doesn't start in recovery mode - Help? Hi there, I have a new M3 Macbook pro. I migrated everything over yesterday and once it was done it asked me to sign in. However it is not recognising my password. This might be because it has an AZERTY keyboard but I've tried with SHIFT on for numbers etc and no dice. I tried to start in recovery mode but when I do that I just get the log in screen again telling me I've been locked out for 3 hours. I've tried cmd R, option cmd R and shift option cmd R. At this stage I don't mind if the thing gets wiped and I have to migrate again... I just need to be able to get the password changed or recognised. Is there any other way I can get in to reset the password? I can't sign in to iCloud to do it as it doesn't exist in my iCloud account yet! Can anyone help please? A

Press and hold the power button until the computer shuts down. Then press the power button again to start up normally.

Is this the Macbook Pro laptop shown in your equipment line, or a big expensive Apple desktop work station, the subject to this forum section?
