Find My is causing battery drain on iPhone 16 running iOS 26

I finally just gave up trying to disable the "find my" program that was draining my iPhone 16 on the latest iOS 26. Every time I think I've got it off, it comes back on and my battery drains, usually over night. And yes I did a full hard reset.

So this morning I turned bluetooth off completely. Then I created an automation to always turn it off whenever it is not plugged in. It seems to be working great so far.

In the end I think this is the only solution. I no longer think apple will ever fix or even acknowledge this has been happening since the original iOS 26 release.

First of all, Find My has been around long before iOS 26 was released. So a change in your battery’s behavior that seemed to coincide with some iOS 26 event is unlikely related to Find My.

Secondly, if you’ve properly determined that Find My is a significant power-using app (see the article linked below), you should consider the activities you’re asking the app to perform, as it’s not generally that much of a resource hog. For example, have you allowed someone else to track you?

Finally, hopefully you’re keeping your iPhone well charged.
