Camera icon missing from lock screen after iOS 26.2 update

My camera icon disappeared from the lock screen after the iOS 26.2 update so I can't quickly take a photo when the phone is locked. How can I get this back? I have checked the app availability and restarted the phone. The app is in the Control Center but is still not on the lock screen.

Long press on the lock screen. Tap "customize." You should see a plus sign where the camera icon used to be. Tap then and add it back.

The missing camera icon is not the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

Was/Is your device Jailbroken? If that's the situation, please be informed that attributing the issues to iOS updates may not be accurate.

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.

The camera icon was there, the phone updated overnight, the camera icon was gone. I also clearly stated what I'd done to try to fix the problem. Therefore, my question accurately stated what happened. I never said it was the update's fault, just giving context. Your reply was very condescending. I suggest adjusting your tone when addressing people in this forum.

Take no notice, they are speculative boilerplate responses, sometimes they are relevant.

However complaining about responses is not very polite, just ignore them if they don't help.
