Creator Studio Educator Pricing - no K12 discount?

There’s no reason to subject yourself to ChromeOS - iWork as it existed before this new subscription version still exists. When/IF you download the new Creator Studio version it gets placed in a new folder so it doesn’t erase the old version we all know and love. It remains unchanged and fully usable. How long that will last is worth considering but for the moment we can keep using iWork without even bothering to download the new Creator Studio version and if we do download it we don’t have to use it.

Also the new version has all the same features as the previous version and all that functionality remains free. That said, the new version is more than a little frustrating to use because it keeps reminding us to subscribe to access new features. After playing with the new version I’ve since deleted it and will not use it until/unless Apple makes a lower cost version available to public school students and teachers.

Finally, there are many free and low cost non-subscription works programs available. My district settled on GoogleDocs and if Google didn’t treat its users like a product for sale I’d happy use it for my personal and non-school work. There are numerous Microsoft Office work alike programs. My wife’s office settled on SoftMaker’s office program which is a very faithful clone of MS Office.

K-12 IS ABSOLUTELY DOING THE HEAVY LIFTING FOR APPLE....and as I've (and others) pointed out, this blackout of K-12 Student/Educator eligibility for the discounted subscription is nothing short of atrocious and everything about projecting Elitism.

Either you support Education and ALL of the PROFESSIONALS that define the industry....or you don't, Apple.

As of your initial release of this product and your continued SILENCE in response to this public inquiry...you don't. You continue to ignore your massive K-12 customer base.

Apple is sadly continuing to cede the creative software market to Adobe and up-and-comers like Canva by not hooking the masses in K-12. iMovie and GarageBand are great for initiating beginners, but users eventually hit a wall once they are ready for more advanced features. And without Apple competing for the affordable option in the K-12 market, users will migrate to Adobe and never look back. Wake up Apple! Nickel and diming will be the death of your creative software ambitions.

I'm experiencing the same frustration. I've entered my high school, and have also tried finding my school district in the SheerID search; both have been met with the following popup.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out because in the past education pricing has applied to k-12 and education pricing has applied to homeschooling too.

same situation, same kind of district. I'd be happy if they just provided a option for the 'iWork" suite.

Same complaint here. I have a classroom full of iPads and I edit the school podcast in Final Cut. The education pricing should be available to k-12 also.
