How to maintain continuous AppleCare+ Theft and Loss coverage during region change?

I need to change the region from New Zealand to Australia as I moved on 28 January. I have to cancel AppleCare+ Theft and Loss (renews 14 Feb) and Apple TV (renews 27 Feb). I've cancelled these, but now I have to WAIT for them to run out??? My concerns are 1. My insurance. I want to have continuous cover, so I won't be able to renew it on 14 Feb as I will still not be able to change my region until 27 Feb????? So there will be a gap in cover from 14 feb to 27 Feb - I would have expected a little more from Apple here as I've been a loyal and happy customer for decades now. It feels my hands are tied and now I can't use ANY other local apps for a month which makes is SUPER hard for me to settle in after migration!

The support article Change your Apple Account country or region - Apple Support describes how to change your country setting on everything using your Apple Account, and the requirements and results of doing this. In order to change country settings you will have to cancel all subscriptions and either wait for them to expire naturally or contact Apple and ask them to end them early.

To speak with a live person from Apple, refer to this page for Apple Support features ➔ Contact - Official Apple Support

Select from the presented options until you find a solution for your issue, or see if there is a chat or phone call contact method offered lower on the page under “Get more help” (you sometimes have to narrow down the options multiple times before this is shown). If you do not see your issue, keep experimenting with any series of selections until you reach one that offers a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

Alternatively, this support article has various country telephone numbers for contacting Apple for support and service ➔ Contact Apple Support - Apple Support Scroll down to “Connect with live support”. If your country is not in the list, go to the “Other countries” entry at the end of the list. Not every country has telephone support, and phone numbers may only work when calling from the same country.

As for taking up your Applecare plan again, I am not so optimistic. Applecare has to be started withing a certain time period after purchasing a device.

Add AppleCare coverage to your Apple device - Apple Support

"AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss

When you purchase a new iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, and within 60 days of purchase, you can add AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss coverage that renews monthly or annually."

If you had purchased the one-time AppleCare (which does not include theft and loss) the device would still be covered for the entire duration of the plan. However, Apple includes a statement in its warranty documents that warranty service may not be available outside the country of purchase of the device. You may therefore wish to investigate at least theft and loss coverage as a rider to whatever other insurance you may be taking out for your possessions.

Note this statement from mobile device warranties:

"IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE, iPAD, APPLE TV, HOMEPOD, AND APPLE VISION PRO SERVICE.

Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, HomePod, and Apple Vision Pro to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device."
