Problems with iPadOS 16.7.13

iPadOS 16.7.13 Problems : On updating from OTA it fails saying couldn't contact the server for authentication after download, never had this issue before. Tried it by my windows PC and it completely wiped and bricked my iPad Pro(blank screen with iPhone cable plug in), first generation 12.9". Despite many attempts to restore it, it wouldn't do it without the new update, even in that safe mode setting, sorry can't remember what that was called now. I had to downloaded a signed version of 16.7.12 to get it back then resync settings via my iPhone to get 90% of my settings back from the iCloud. I tried again OTA with Bluetooth via my phones 5g just in case it was a network router issue and its the same. For info my iPhone 12 updated with no issues. Only other thing I noted was the update said 66.4Mb but it actually downloaded a large file instead. I'm sure the update is broken for my old iPad Pro. Any ideas please, I'm reasonably PC literate and checked that IP address on the PC in the setting that people say to delete in the "etc" folder and it wasn't there, although that shouldn't have effect doing OTA. Thanks Dave

Available information suggests that the iPadOS 16.7.13 update has been temporarily withdrawn by Apple. At this time you would be best advised to save your efforts in attempting to update/restore your iPad. Hopefully the issue will be resolved by Apple within the coming days.

Otherwise, you would be best advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page.

Alternatively and perhaps easier, you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:
