iMac login window defaults to French
iMac Tahoe 26.2 boots up in French as shown in the small keyboard in the upper right corner of login window. Have to manually change it to English before entering login password.

Have you checked system settings / keyboard / text input / edit / all input sources to make sure that only US is on the list? Use the minus button at the bottom to remove everything else and restart.
