Apple ID password on Mac/Safari same as computer login but DIFFERENT than Apple ID password on iPhone/iPad

*When entering my Apple ID password on iPhone or iPad, the password is what I established long ago.

But if I access iCloud on myMac via Safari, the password that works is the same as my computer login password.

*I did not change this - and I don't know when or how this changed.

*Should I change passwords on the Mac? Or what?

*NOTE - this same situation exists for my husband: 1 password for devices, a different one (identical to his computer login password) for iCloud on the Mac via Safari.

Your computer may be using an auto-fill feature that will provide the relevant sign-in information automatically into a web site once you have authenticated with the computer using your computer user password. It may be the new Passwords App.

Use the Passwords app to create, manage, and share passwords and passkeys across Apple devices - Apple Support

and for iPhone —> Share passwords and passkeys with people you trust on iPhone - Apple Support

I have this on my computer but it is specific to my web browser (Firefox). It uses a different password for Firefox only.
