How to remove an accidentally set passcode on iPhone 17?
My 87yr old father accidentally set up a passcode on his IPhone 17 and I can’t get rid of it! Any suggestions? It’s 17 Pro Max

If you cannot provide the correct passcode, you may be forced to reset the phone and wipe all of the data stored on it to get back in.
If you forgot your iPhone passcode or your iPhone is disabled - Apple Support
If the phone has Find My turned on, a reset will require you to supply the correct Apple Account password, so as to satisfy the Activation Lock (anti-theft mechanism).
Hopefully the phone was set to back up data to, and/or synchronize data with, iCloud.

Enter the Passcode
Tap Settings
Scroll down and Tap Face ID & Passcode
Enter the Passcode again
Scroll down and Tap Turn Passcode Off
Tap Turn Off
Continue to follow the prompts
Unfortunately, this sounds like a possible Catch 22. Passcode or Password? I'm guessing Passcode.
You will need the Passcode to be able to access and change the settings to not need a Passcode.
