How to fix inconsistent USB-C charging on 2019 MacBook Air?

The USB-C ports on my 2019 MacBook Air have stopped working consistently. I tried switching chords & charger. No change. Even when those cords work on my iPhone 17 Pro. When I try a SMC Reset, that works for a while & then they stop working again. Any suggestions/recommendations?

USB-C Port stopped working The USB-C Ports on my Macbook Pro 2019 have stopped working. They have been temperamental for the past year however 1 has now fully stopped, and the other one is a touch and go - which obviously does not help as this is the only way to charge my laptop. I have only been using the laptop charger given when receiving the laptop and have purchased all other adapters needed off the Apple website or an approved supplier such as Belkin. I also use the iphone usb-c charger for my phone which came from Apple. I read online that I could rest the SMC? Would this make a difference if it's the port? If I continue, do I need to back up my laptop? Has anyone had this issue/know what the cost for repair would be? Obviously a vital part of the laptop. Thanks in advance!

Only 1 of my usb-c ports on my MacBook work There are 2 charging/ usb-c ports on my MacBook air, only the second one will fit a usb-c cable perfectly and charge my Macbook / use an adapter. The first one doesn't properly fit a usb-c cable which is why i can't use it to charge my Macbook air. It's been like this for a while however when i first got my MacBook in 2020 the first port was perfectly fine to use and then suddenly it won't fit the charger anymore, is it just a matter of debris blocking the usb-c port?

MacBook Charger Keeps Connecting and Disconnecting (MagSafe 3) I’ve been using the original Apple 140W power adapter and MagSafe 3 cable that came with my MacBook Pro 16-inch (M1, 2021) for about two years without any issues. However, starting a couple of days ago (after updating to macOS Sequoia 15.6), I noticed a problem: When I use the MagSafe 3 cable with the original 140W power adapter, the charger keeps connecting and disconnecting repeatedly. I hear the charging notification sound every few seconds. The MagSafe indicator light keeps blinking instead of staying solid. Here’s what I’ve tried and observed: If I use an Apple-issued USB-C to USB-C cable (came with an iPhone) with the 140W adapter and connect it to a Thunderbolt 4 port, the MacBook charges without issues. If I use the original MagSafe 3 cable with a third-party adapter, the laptop also charges fine. The issue only happens when I use the Apple 140W adapter and the original MagSafe 3 cable together (the exact combination that worked perfectly for 2 years). This started happening just a couple of days ago, around the time of a recent macOS update (Sequoia 15.6). Could this be related to the update, or is it likely a hardware issue with either the adapter or the cable? Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you have rebooted, and given the SMC reset, contact Apple Support, as it is quite possible your MacBook Air has a hardware problem with the ports or with charging, or the battery has worn.
