Continue using Pages and Numbers 14.5 on MacBook Air

Apple Creator Studio.

Hi I am a retired military engineer and MacBook Air user, and have had my device for about 5 years now. The only two 'productivity apps' I use, came with the MacBook suite when I bought it new. As such, I use Pages and Numbers 14.5 and that's about it. I have no need for presentation / photo / music editing software etc, I really don't want to have to pay a subscription for something that is far above my level of technical skill and will never use, but when I now open either of these applications I get prompted to upgrade. Can I just continue to use what I have please?

Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, regardless of the version, are free applications without an Apple Creator Studio subscription requirement. The latter unlocks some additional premium features and remains entirely optional.

The v14.5 applications will not receive future updates (e.g. 14.6, etc.), though you can continue to use them. Should you install any Pages, Numbers, or Keynote v15.1 applications, this will not automatically replace v14.5, but will throw a dialog indicating that v14.5 is no longer supported and should be removed.

Thank you for that... I have read the Apple update notes to move from 14.5 to 15.1 and I understand that these are in fact different / new applications. Once I upgrade to 15.1 does that prompt a subscription payment or is 15.1 merely replacing 14.5 as a stand alone application and that I continue to use it in the same way as I do now?

I just don't want to get this wrong and become trapped into a subscription option.

Thank you
