Screenshots not saving automatically to Photos on iOS 26

I am having the same issue with iOS 26.3

After playing around with the save options (clicking on the smaller image that shows on the bottom right-hand side) and attempting to save it/ assign it to an Album, I received the error message that I needed to sign into my account.

Then screen then went to my iCloud Account Settings for which I was already logged in.

Once I exited the iCloud Account Settings and attempted to do another screenshot, all previous screenshots I just took then showed up.

There must be an issue with the indexing or the need for iPhone users to have their photos synchronising to iCloud (or settings associated that is causing the issue).

Hope the workaround works for you as it did for me.

y default, the screenshots are saved in the Photos app. After cropping you may have selected the save options incorrectly

1. Open Photos, then tap Collections.
2. Swipe up, tap Media Types, then tap Screenshots.
