Unable to link F1TV and Apple TV subscriptions

I have an active F1TV subscription and a active apple tv subscription. I followed the link on F1TV to link the accounts. I press the button it just spins for 30 minutes and did nothing. I turned off my VPN, I have a norton private browser/chrome and edge. I tried both with the same result. I would just like to link the accounts together. Other people in the F1 community are having the same issue. I do not have an apple tv. I use an app on the tv. My F1TV was paid thru itunes. Any help would be appreciated

This is how I got mine to work. After I performed the "link F1 account to Apple TV" which said "Failed". Then I tried to log in to the F1 app through Apple TV but it kept taking me back to the login screen after I entered my credentials, but it never showed me the code to use, only username and password fields. So I offloaded the app from Apple TV, then clicked on the app to get it to load again. Now when I click the app, I get the code to use to login in from a browser. DO NOT USE YOUR CAMERA ON THE BARCODE. Open a browser from your computer and go to F1.com/tv and enter the code shown on your TV screen. It should log in your TV now.

When I followed the link process it said it failed. When I tried to log in to my F1 app, via Apple TV, it would keep taking me back to the login screen. Frustrating. When I held the camera on my phone to login it kept wanting to take me to login with the app on my phone, which did not work. After that, it would never show me the icon or code to login via camera after the first time. RESOLUTION: Eventually I held down the remote button on the F1 app and offloaded the app. Then loaded the app again. Then I got the login screen with the code. Then on my computer I went to F1.com/tv and entered the code displayed on Apple TV It logged in my TV and worked!

They keeping telling us F1 TV premium will be available to all prior F1 TV subscribers

I would word that differently: All current Apple TV subscribers in the US should be able to get access to F1 TV Premium. Prior F1 TV subscriptions are no longer valid, as access to subscription content requires a currently active subscription.

… and it will be linked to Apple TV app.

Apple TV subscribers in the US can watch F1 in the Apple TV app. They can also connect their subscription to the F1 TV app, and watch current F1 content, and other Formula racing, and archival content in the F1 TV app.

Our Apple TV subscription is part of a family share with my son (so grandkids can watch when they are at my house)

Alright.

and I sign in under my google ID;

The shared Apple TV subscription would be accessible when signed in with your Apple Account, not your Google ID. Google is unrelated for this. The email address for the Apple Account could optionally be an @gmail.com address though.

The F1 TV subscription was under my husband’s email. Perhaps this is the issue. Any ideas?

The F1 content is now available under the account as used for Apple Family Sharing, if one of the group members subscribes to Apple TV.

I have the same issue, except I own an Apple TV box and subscribed through thr f1 TV app originally.

go through the steps to link, scan the QR code, approve the link to my Apple account, and F1 page loads up with headers but no other info and it never subscribes. Go through the app to watch an old race, says I need a subscription.

not off to a good start here Apple/f1!

if you’re gonna make it hard to connect the content(why not just put it all inside Apple TV app??) then your back end tech needs to work!

Access to F1 in the U.S. in 2026–2030 will be through the Apple TV app, on any of your supported devices, while being subscribed to the Apple TV streaming service (formerly Apple TV+). F1 TV Premium access will be included for all these subscribers in the U.S. (Not sure what the relevancy will be of the F1 TV app in that part of the world.)

More details may be presented in the coming weeks, as we’re getting closer to the start of the racing season. At this time, there may not be much to explore in the Apple TV app with regard to the F1 races (other than the 2025 Brad Pitt movie).

Tell us something we don’t know.

the issue is a technical one where linking your Apple TV subscription to F1 TV fails.

not all content is being migrated to Apple TV application, rather select content is being migrated, while Apple TV subscribers gain access to F1 TV and all of its content.

the issue is accessing the F1Tv content is failing due to the subscription linking process failing.

Ive been trying for over three days to connect to Apple F1TV through my Apple TV account and keep getting either "Account already linked" Error Code BE4005 or "Sorry Your account sync failed" Code BE4005. Ive contacted Apple twice and got tole its not their fault and ive attempted to contact the F1 site firstly using their innefective AI system then via email where I got a reply asking me to do exactly what ive been dong for the last three days. Ive logged out of everything and restarted all my up to date Apple products.

I now have no idea what to do.

Ive owned an Apple computer since 1994 and have never had these problems before and am shocked that Apple have not only got itself into this problem but seem unwilling to do anything about it.

Help!!

They keeping telling us F1 TV premium will be available le to all prior F1 TV subscribers and it will be linked to Apple TV app. I get two messages- it is linked, but then an error message and all content is locked.

our Apple TV subscription is part of a family share with my son (so grandkids can watch when they are at my house) and I sign in under my google ID; the F1 TV subscription was under my husband’s email. Perhaps this is the issue. Any ideas?

thanks for the answer-

yes, I misspoke in terms of needing or having a current F1 subscription. Also, yes, I also meant Apple ID, not Google ID. I am using my gmail email account for my Apple Account.

Here is where I am with the process:

When I open the apple TV app on the IPad, F1 does not show up in the list on the left. I can search for it and it points me to the old F1TV app. When I try try to link that, it takes me to the screen that shows it "available with AppleTV" and an "activate"button. I then get the link.apple.com window and it asks if I want to sign in with my gmail account, that is my Apple ID. Next screen asks to allow F1 to access Apple TV subscription. This ends up with "Account already linked, Enjoy F1TV Premium, Error code: BE4005. "

Any ideas?

On the TV (Roku) F1 shows in the list on the left at the home screen, but it is only the Apple TV content, not the F1 TV content. I haven't tried linking F1TV to appletv on the Roku yet. I thought it should be easiest on the iPad...

Thanks
