My Apple smart keyboard, does not allow me to type and show input. I have done a hard reset and turned it on and off to no avail. My iPad M4 is still under warranty and hope you can direct me properly.

Remove the iPad from the Magic Keyboard - and carefully/gently clean the smart connector contacts on both the iPad and keyboard with a soft pencil eraser (a drafting-film eraser is ideal). Ensure that the contacts on both iPad and keyboard are dirt and dust free - and all debris from the eraser have been removed - before reconnecting the two.

these forums are user helping other users like yourself, it's sort of going
to a physical apple store and asking other customers their advice
if it was me then I would make the ipad forget the keyboard and set it up from scratch and or test it with another device computer, phone or tablet of any type to verify the keyboard was not simply defect.

if it's not under bluetooth devices in settings->bluetooth->my devices for you to forget
then if it was me then I would just pair the keyboard once again

Thank you for your response. I don’t find the Apple smart keyboard, which is less than two years old in settings and therefore do not know how to delete it so I could reinstall it, if that makes sense.
