Cannot reset security questions — need to free Gmail from old Apple ID
Hello everyone,
I have an issue with an old Apple ID associated with one of my Gmail addresses.
I was able to sign in to iCloud.com, but whenever I try to manage the account (for example via account.apple.com or privacy.apple.com), I’m asked to answer the security questions — and I don’t remember the answers.
If I try to reset them through iforgot.apple.com, I get the message:
“Unable to reset security questions — We don’t have enough information to reset your security questions.”
My goal is not to recover and use that account, but simply to free up the Gmail address so I can link it to my main Apple ID.
Does anyone know if there’s a procedure to dissociate an email address from an Apple ID when the security questions can’t be recovered?
Has anyone had a similar experience or found a practical solution?
