MacBook Pro 14-inch fan running loudly; how to reset PRAM?

How do I reset PRAM on mbp 14" Nov 2025 build? The fan is running with just the browser open in the last couple weeks. All OS updates installed

The M-series Macs do not have the special keys to reset the PRAM. While there is a command line option to clear the NVRAM (aka PRAM), that won't help you here. For power & fan related issues it would instead be an SMC Reset, but M-series Macs don't have an SMC Reset.

Have you tried restarting the laptop?

You can run the Apple Diagnostics to see if any hardware issues are detected. If there is a problem with the cooling system, then the diagnostics should tell you....usually it will be due to a faulty temperature sensor.

If the diagnostics do not report any problems, then the fan is most likely running fast due to software issues. In that case, run the third party app EtreCheck and post the complete report here so we can examine it for possible clues.
