iCloud says it’s full but it’s not and I can’t unsubscribe

Hello, I'm currently trying to unsubscribe from iCloud. The problem is that it won't let me do it because it wants all my pictures backed up. My iCloud is not full, I have enough storage on my device but the message that my iCloud is full still appears and it’s impossible to backup the pics. It doesn’t let me. Any advice on how can I unsubscribe?

Hello veselina145!

Your phone storage is separate from your iCloud storage so that means those are different.

First to check your iCloud Storage:

Go to your Settings>Tap Apple Account (Your Name)>iCloud>Storage

You can now check your iCloud storage.

if you want to cancel the subscription, Just after pressing Storage>Change Storage Plan>Cancel Subscription.

If you want to Turn the iCloud Photos off, Go to iCloud storage again and press iCloud Photos then turn the iCloud Photos off

**NOTE: IF YOU TURN ICLOUD PHOTOS OFF YOUR ICLOUD PHOTOS WILL BE DELETED WITHIN 30 DAYS!!! DON’T TURN IT OFF IF YOUR ICLOUD HAS ENOUGH STORAGE AND MAKE SURE TO MOVE YOUR PHOTOS TO A USB OR SOMETHING TO NOT LOSE YOUR ICLOUD PHOTOS WITHIN 30 DAYS**

I hope I could fix your problem!

Best regards,

Adli

To help, I think we need more information:

  • What model is your phone?
  • What iOS does it use?
  • Are you using iCloud Photos to synchronize your devices? If so
  • …Do you have “Optimize Storage” checked in Photos’ Settings
  • …Do you see all your iPhone pictures at iCloud.com?
  • …Have you checked to see if the Apple Account is really really the same on  the iPhone and at iCloud.com?
  • …Do you have more than 10% free storage on your iCloud account?
  • What is your storage on this iPhone? At Settings>General>iPhone Storage, my phone says 50.5 GB of 128 GB used. What does yours say? Do you have more than 10% free storage on your iPhone?
  • Exactly what message do you get that says "it wants all my pictures backed up?" I don't recall phrasing like this.

If you use Optimize Storage with Photos, then your phone doesn't keep the full originals of your pictures, so you will need to deal with that when turning off iCloud.
