I have a MacBook Pro i5 (4 Thunderbolt). Running Sequoia. I use a Fairikabe adapter for ethernet, hdmi and usb. I was having trouble with the ethernet connection dropping so I deleted it and tried to start over. But when I go to 'add service, Ethernet is not a choice anymore. Any suggestions?
Make sure the Fairikabe adapter is plugged into your MBPro. In Network > Add Service > Interface look for the name of the Fairikabe adapter (it may be only something like "USB 10/100/10 LAN"). Select it, then give it a service name; you can call it Ethernet if you want to but I'd suggest "Fairikabe LAN" for clarity.
FWIW, "Ethernet" is not built into MacBook Pro models any more including your i5 model.

The service might be called the name of the adapter. I've got a Belkin adapter and my ethernet service is called "Belkin USB-C LAN" (see below). Have you got anything called Fairikabe or similar?
The service you want to add back in might not be called Ethernet. it might have the name of the Dock, or the Ethernet chip, or USB or Thunderbolt something.
What is the list of services you CAN add?
¿Have you ever installed a VPN? Just having that installed, not even active, will mess up your communications in a BIG way.
That got it. The USB Lan showed up after a restart with the adapter plugged into ethernet. Thanks!!!
