iPhone 16 Pro Max: Siri/Spotlight not finding apps

Hi,


I’m experiencing persistent issues with Siri Search / Spotlight search on my iPhone 16 Pro Max.


The problem started on iOS 26.2 and unfortunately is still present after updating to iOS 26.3.


Symptoms:


  • Spotlight search does not return app results (sometimes completely blank)
  • Siri search via typing does not find apps or settings reliably
  • Search feels like indexing is broken
  • Issue persists after reboot


What I’ve already tried:


  • Multiple restarts
  • Reset all settings
  • Toggling Siri & Search settings off/on
  • Waiting for re-indexing while charging on Wi-Fi


None of the above resolved the issue.


Is Apple officially aware of this bug in iOS 26.x?


Has anyone with iPhone 16 Pro Max experienced the same issue — and if so, did you find a working solution?

Hi,


I wanted to share my experience in case it helps others.


On my iPhone 16 Pro Max running iOS 26.2.1 (and later 26.3), I had persistent issues where:


  • Spotlight search returned no results
  • Siri search couldn’t find apps or settings
  • Mail app search also stopped working


I tried multiple restarts, resetting all settings, and toggling Siri & Search options, but nothing helped.


What finally fixed the problem was performing a full factory reset and setting up the iPhone again. After the reset, Spotlight and Mail search started working normally, likely because the search index was rebuilt from scratch.


Just sharing this in case someone else is facing the same issue.
