FCP 12 Effects parameters are missing from Inspector

In FCP 12 the parameters for all of my Effects plugins and the Effects themselves do not appear in the Inspector.

I am not sure if this happened exactly when I updated FCP 11.2 to FCP 12.0, but I believe that is when this situation arose. All Effects, including those built-in to FCP, are experiencing this. Of note, plugins for Titles, Generators and Transitions seem to be working normally in the Inspector.

Happy to report: I followed the recommendation to Delete my FCP Preferences - and that cured the problem.

The solution may be familiar to many here, but just in case: Preference Deletion is accomplished by holding down OPTION and COMMAND while booting up FCP.

I am glad that things are working for you, but since you said that none the effects appeared, it seems to me that you would not have needed to delete preferences.

The Effects area of the Inspector might have just been closed down, in which case all you'd have to do is hover the cursor near the word "Effects"; the word "Show" would appear; click it.
