How do I get rid of these ghost effects?

[Final Cut Pro V12.0]

I downloaded an effects pack a while ago, which I believe I removed some time later. I can confirm this as they do not appear in my effects folder nor by a general search in finder.

However, they still appear in the Final Cut Pro effects tab. If I apply them it appears as the red 'missing effect' screen. If I right-click and select 'open in Motion', Motion opens but doesn't show a window and becomes responsive.

How do I get rid of these ghost effects? They are very annoying as they add a mile of scroll time to the effects category list.

Ok...

Check in /Applications/BorisFX and see if there is an Uninstall app — you'll need to use that to completely remove the templates. You will also need to restart FCP to update it.

If you used FxFactory to install the BorisFX templates, you may need to use FxFactory to uninstall. You can check:

/Library/Application Support/FxFactory to see if the BorisFX templates are installed there.
