Faulty refurbished device directly from Apple.

I bought a refurbished iPhone 16 directly from Apple, but the device says that the battery is not genuine and it will not charge. I feel scammed. What do I need to do to make this right?

Apple certified refurbished come with the same one year limited warranty for defects. The full message also says “or not functioning properly.” If you have allowed unauthorized access it likely just needs a battery replacement.
