Unable to log in to MacBook with Touch ID or password

"Unable to log in to MacBook with Touch ID or password: ive been trying to log into my Mac for the past 2 days, I’m a college student and I have tons of work due. For some reason, it will not let me use my thumb ID to log in. I know my actual password to log into my MacBook and that also won’t work!"
