Depending on the offer and who made that offer, the trial may be for 7 days, a month, 2 months, 3 months, or even longer.
- If the offer was from Apple for buying a new qualifying Apple device, and you haven’t redeemed a similar offer before, then you should redeem the offer on your new qualifying Apple device first.
- If the offer was from the TV manufacturer/seller, then you should redeem the offer on your TV first.
The terms and conditions of the offer should list the applying details of how to redeem, and within what time window.
I tried it for part of a day and it worked fine.
When signed in without offer, first episodes of select TV shows from the Apple TV catalog will be fully accessible. Don’t confuse that with an active subscription free trial.
If you have an active Apple TV subscription (including the trial), then that should work on all your devices with the Apple TV app when using the matching Apple Account, including your iPhone and iPad. Does it work on those?
the message on the tv screen says unable to access. try again later.
How much later. It’s been many days and still the same message and response on my phone.
The message can be about difficulty to connect with remote servers. Verify that your device’s date and time and timezone are correct, as Apple needs that for secure connections. Verify that ‘firewalls’ on your devices or network do not block Apple/Akamai/AWS servers. If there are no known outages, and your DNS and internet connection is good, then this service should work just fine.
If the issue persists, then please consider contacting the Apple Support staff. Contact Apple for support and service (phone numbers) or start your support request online (“Tell us what’s happening”, then chat/email/callback). Their knowledge on specific offers, and questions to you about your devices and experience details, may help get to the heart of the matter much faster.
