17 Pro Max eSIM not working after iOS 26.3 update

My carrier issued me a new eSIM however it will not allow me to use it until I have the latest update. I’ve tried updating even let it sit overnight and it still says verifying update after over 10 hours. I also tried using the beta version but getting the same results. I’m running iOS 26.5.2 on a new iPhone 17 pro. After the new eSIM was issued I even lost access to my iMessage so essentially I’m left with a worthless phone. The Genius Bar has zero availability until tomorrow which is ridiculous considering the support site said Best Buy could help but they cannot fix a phone this new! Wasting my time it’s been broken since Wednesday.

I will presume the iPhone and its contents were wiped after the beta, and a backup from a pre-beta version was restored, or that no data was restored.

i would not recommend using a beta for troubleshooting an eSIM issue.

iOS 26.6 is the current version, having been released a week ago; July 27, 2026.

iPhone 13 mini, also have similar issues. Problem is not with carrier, as it doesn’t work with all eSIMs. Installed ones are not working and not possible to remove, new ones are not activating.
