I just went into Pages and wanted to use a template, and I immediately found out that Pages opens in Creative Studio, and I have to open a free trial to use it. I no longer have access to the built-in templates I used to use routinely!!! This is so irritating!!! Why do I have to be constantly UP_SOLD to something I don't want or need!!!!

The same templates that were there in the previous version are still available and are free. The only ones that require a subscription are the new templates that you never had before. Scroll down and you will see the classic templates in these categories:

The Pages templates marked with the purple emblem are reserved for subscriptions (or trial) of Apple's Creator Studio. Since I was sufficiently aware that those marked templates were part of Creator Studio, I had no reason to create a new document with them, and assess what would happen next.
Similarly, if you do not click the opt-in subscription menu item in Pages v15.1.1, you will not be subscribed to Creator Studio.
All of the standard templates that Mac Jim ID has posted are just as previous, unencumbered by any Creator Studio requirement.
